ClearRecord Pro – Noise free voice recorder App Reviews

BEWARE: Last night I used this app for an important call. I had several medical records on it for the doctor. The last message to me from my Father before he died was recorded. This morning... (ALL) messages were gone, erased, not there. Dont trust this app with anything you care about hearing later. The worst, like feeling my Fathers loss all over (I no longer get to hear his voice).

I have had none of the problems the negative reviews claim. Clear clean recordings easily moved and reviewed. And ARCHIVED. If you leave critical files on a mobile device you court disaster. I havent lost anything at all, but I secure recordings quickly, sometimes using the email feature, which zips automatically. Thats how you treat mission critical files. I use this professionally when setting up a real field recorder and high fidelity microphones is impractical. It WORKS with excellent NR using the built-in mics of an iPhone. Produces hi-fi WAV files or AAC if you have space limitations. I understand quick cutting clips in a rudimentary NLE is coming to the iPhone version. Thats all thats basically missing. I would like the added feature of directly sending files to the new multimedia Notes app and pay more for a voice activated set of features.

I have used this app for over one year and it worked fine until a major upgrade was installed. Since then, this app has been unreliable. I record choir rehearsals weekly and listen to the recorded rehearsals for practicing on my own. Numerous times I have had a recording simply disappear. It will show that recording on the list, but trying to open it causes the app to close. When I open the app again, it asks if I wish to report the problem. I have reported it many times. I have waited on a fix for this app for months and am finally giving up and using another app for recording.

Being a voice recorder I love this app. Background noise is removed effectively!

This is a fine recorder with some really neat features. Only problem is, sometimes when you try to play back a recording youve just made, it gives and error message saying its an unsupported file format. What?? The app doesnt support the files it creates? Thats a significant bug that needs to be fixed.

Still not able to edit/trim the recorded tracks on iOS.

This app does its job well! Cuts out background noise when I try to record lectures in college. However, inconsistently it will record the audio in an unfamiliar playback format? It gives an error that is stated by other reviews. Also- I use a Rode Videomic GO and it works wonderfully when this app actually works. Since not being able to rely on this app is a big Nono, it barely deserves this 2 star rating. UPDATE: I think Ive found a work around- Upload your file immediately to Dropbox after recording. It somehow has had 100% success playback since January. Once a recording didnt work, but playback through the Dropbox browser on my computer worker fine

Worked well until received an update. Now it crashes constantly and sends error message that there isnt enough space for recording.
